Registered Nurse (Critical Access Care Hospital)

Job Summary: We are seeking Canadian licensed Registered Nurses (RNs) experienced in critical care nursing to join our team and work for our client in the USA. As a critical care nurse, you will be responsible for providing care to patients who are critically ill or injured.
Job Type: Full-time Contract
Job Location: Relocation to the USA (Montana)
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for assessment of all patients.
- Obtains and maintains patient’s chart, history, and physical care plan on admission.
- Always aware of patient’s condition.
- Team leader – by delegating and assigning nursing staff to patient care and follow up on work being done.
- To be available to make rounds with physician as needed.
- Assures all vital signs are taken accurately in a timely manner.
- Notifies Charge Nurse of any abnormal vital signs and deteriorating condition immediately.
- Able to work in all departments of hospital, Med-Surg, ICU, OB and ER.
- Assures continuity of care maintained.
2. Responsible for communication with co-workers, physicians, patients, and visitors.
- Interdepartmental: Communicates as necessary, regarding tests, equipment, rooms, scheduling, etc.
- Makes rounds with physician.
- Informs physician of any change in patient condition.
- Follows physician’s orders if understood completely, if not clarify.
3. Responsible for patient and employee education.
- Instruct and assist patients on specimen collection, tests, and procedures.
- Instruct patient on care after discharge.
- Attends in-services as scheduled.
- ACLS, TERN, Geriatric, and CPR Certified.
- Assists with new employee orientation as needed.
4. Responsible for patient care.
- Assists and directs nursing staff in giving patient care and works as a team
5. Responsible for administration or oversees administration of medication or IV treatment.
- Able to start IV’s.
- Administrates IV medication with and without pump.
- Performs RT treatments.
- Does EKG’s.
- Prepares equipment and assist physicians during treatments and examining of patients.
- Administers medication according to procedure and policy.
- Medication and treatments are performed on time.
- Always explains procedures and treatments to patients to gain cooperation.
- Observes and documents any results, or reactions to medication or treatment.
6. Responsible for documentation on patient’s charts.
- Documentation of admission and discharge must be done on all patients.
- All documentation must be legible and legal.
- Documentation on patient’s charts must be done on all patients.
7. Responsible for supervising Ward Clerks, Aides, and LPN’s.
- Plans 24-hour care and coordinates activities for ancillary personnel.
- Demonstrates nursing techniques – assists non-professional care personnel in rendering nursing care.
- Responsible for follow-up care delegated to non-professionals.
- Assists in evaluating and counseling ancillary personnel.
8. Responsible to abide by the policies of Northeast Montana Health Services.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited university or college.
- Current and valid RN licensure.
- Completion of NCLEX examination.
- Strong clinical assessment and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in primary care, long-term care, or specialized clinical settings is preferred.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in ER, OB, MS and Long-term care
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications
